Come to the Hudson River Music Hall for a night of laughs as we present “Brain Tonic for the Humorously Curious”. This humor showcase features off-beat, intelligent, and slightly quirky comedians Chris O'Leary, Nick Yost, and Ed Smyth along with humorous songster Drew Jacobs on Friday June 24, 7:30 pm. The show material is suitable for ages 12 and older.
Drew Jacobs is a humorous singer/songwriter who has been performing as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter since 2005, with two CD releases of “Easy Listening for the Hard of Hearing” and “If 50’s the New 30”. Ed Smyth is a stand up comedian in the in the alt-comedy style with off-beat topics as diverse as single cell balloon animals, “Wally the Happy Talking Neutrino”, and “Flashback 60's Sock Puppet Theater”. Nick Yost is a smart, witty comedian with sharp, quirky comic twists on mathematics, marriage, and the odd comparisons between America and Africa. Saratoga native Chris O'Leary doles out droll mind-twist riffs and one-liners on every conceivable (and unconceivable) topic.
This “Brain Tonic” showcase has been held nearby in the Albany area with solid success. Ed Smyth has also appeared twice at Hudson River Music Hall as an opener for the Roy Orbison and Dirty Harri's/Tumbling Dice tribute shows this past spring.
